My drafting class uses this SOL weekly. I allow students to select one of the models from my assortment of hand designed models past students have constructed. Once they select a model they will have to draw the top, front, left and side views as well as select the proper software to show shade, shadow, color and texture in perspective form.
The G.12 SOL is as follows:
The student will make a model of a three-dimensional figure from a two-dimensional drawing and make a two-dimensional representation of a three-dimensional object. Models and representations will include scale drawings, perspective drawings, blueprints, or computer simulations.
